JPL SUITE EXPERIENCE / AN ABODE WITH A VIEW

Interior & objects / Design, curation & production / Client : The Hotel Brussels

“I imagined the Splendour Suite as a 360° dive in my universe, transforming the space into a living experience of design, art, and travel, with every detail inviting you to play, explore, and connect.”

I imagined The Hotel Brussels as a place where my universe could take over and unfold in every detail. From the bedroom to the living room to the bathroom, I transformed an entire suite into an interactive world, a space that is part exhibition, part playground, part invitation to dream.

I wanted visitors to feel as if they were staying with me. Pieces from my collections are there, clothing and objects mingling with the scenography I designed. There is a bespoke soundscape with podcasts I recorded in English, a minibar filled with flavours I’ve collected from around the world, and a menu created with the hotel’s chef to extend the experience onto the plate. Even the bathroom has been reimagined, with various toiletries and cute details.

The suite is also a dressing room, with scarves, pyjamas, shirts, accessories and scrunchies waiting to be tried on or taken home. My colourful prints in silk crepe and cotton poplin, inspired by my journeys through Morocco, Turkey, Mexico, India and Belgium, bring energy and joy to the space.

I wanted this project to go further than decoration. It is about curiosity, sharing, and connecting worlds. I invited artists and craftspeople I admire like Eric Croes, Maarten Baas, Big Game Design, Hélène Bedouet, Erwin De Muer, All In All Studio, Thierry Boutemy, Tom Price, Aliette Vliers, Laetitia Bica, Michael Dans, Clara de La Cera, Frizbee Ceramic, Dogs Don’t Do Cats, Erwan Roussel and Kwangho Lee, to enrich the suite with their creations. Together we brought glass, ceramics, masks, trinkets, even iron from the Atomium, into dialogue with the 180° view of Brussels from the 18th floor.

For those who cannot sleep in the suite, I created a Pop Up / Escale in the Gold Room of the restaurant, open to the public during the launch weekend. And to continue the adventure beyond the hotel walls, I mapped out my fifty favourite Brussels addresses. Places to eat, drink, shop and discover the city through my eyes.

This project is a 360° dive into my imagination, a living space where design, art and travel come together and where every detail is an invitation to play, to explore, to feel.
